What can I say about me that you won't slowly find out through the reading of my essays, listening to my podcasts or seeing my artwork?
I was born in 1986 on the 19th of November, which would make me... *looks at watch* ...an old man by now. My childhood was not particularly easy, but then again anyone could probably say the same thing. It wasn't as bad as it could have been, but it could have been better.
I have been an artist since I was young, not to mention that I've always had a penchant for language and writing. A hobby of mine is studying etymology (the study of how language evolves and has come to be).
When I was in high school, I started looking into playing music, as I'd been interested in doing so for a long time. I bought my first guitar, an Ibanez RG, for $150 from a pawn shop. My next instrument would be a Fender Strat for $250. Eventually I'd get another guitar or two, but my main two axes to this day are my first two babies.
I met up with Dann Serapin in high school and immediately found a kindred spirit in him. His taste in music was similar to mine, but he had tastes beyond that, so radically different, that his influence on me has helped to create the specific sound I have.
Over the years I've been in volved with a few bands, but my main thing has been (and always will be) Deconstructed. Throughout this time, we've recorded dozens of demos and songs and written many more that have not seen the light of day.
Decon (as we like to call it) was put on indefinite hold in 2005 when I left home to attend the University of Evansville, in hopes of studying Journalism and Creative Writing. I eventually dropped that idea (though still continued to write) in favor of Graphic Design. Given that I have been teaching myself the essentials of "layout" for years while working on a local newspaper, I felt this would be the best course of action to take.
I moved back home after the summer of 2008 and began to attend Purdue University, majoring in Graphic Design.
Currently, I am working on music again, artwork, sketching, web design, video editing and so much more. Life's been a blast so far and it really is what you make of it.
